Ralph Bradley Petty, 89, of Indianapolis, passed away on March 16, 2013. He was born in Effingham County, IL on December 15, 1923 to Virgil and Bessie (Pyles) Petty. He was a WWII Veteran serving as a corporal in the US Army. He was a drill press operator for Allison’s for 32 years. Ralph was the sole provider for his family, which allowed his wife to be a stay at home mom. He loved working for and around the church, which he and his wife have been a part of for 62 years. Ralph is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carol Mae (Myers); his children, Daniel (Catherine) Petty, Steven Petty, Gerald Petty, and Brenda (Roger) Durrett; grandchildren, Bradley (Amanda), Melissa (David), David (Ginni), Aaron (Bre), Bethany, Kristina (Wesley), Susan (Ryan), Jason, Brian (Natalie), Jennifer, Justin (Amanda), Joshua, and Candace; 17 great grandchildren; a brother, Bobby Joe in Effingham, IL, and numerous and nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19 at the Apostolic Life Church, 4200 West Washington, Indianapolis, IN. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time. He will be laid to rest at Floral Park Cemetery. Arrangements made by Indiana Funeral Care and Cemetery.
